Frank E. Brown, 86 year-old Vinita resident and former owner of Franks Jewelry in Vinita, died Friday evening, March 7, 2008 in Oklahoma City. He was born January 8, 1922 in Illinois to Albert W. and Ella Bell (Sooter) Brown. Frank served his country during World War II, in the United States Army Air Corp. He was married to Alma (Taylor) who preceded him in death in 1987 and later married Melba Lorain (Finley) who preceded him in death in 2006. Frank owned and operated his jewelry store in Vinita for over 40 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the American Legion Dale Peace Post #40. Frank was an avid golfer and Vinita sports fan, he also loved to read and exercise. Frank is survived by his loving family; three sons, David Brown and wife Judy of Tulsa, Frank Brown, Jr. of San Diego, Harold L. Brown and wife Karla of Vinita; three sisters, Alice Wilder of Palm Beach, Florida, Janie Dettenbach of Alton, Illinois, Hattie McKee of Thebes, Illinois; five grandchildren, Julia Brown, Cassandra Brown, Brett McGuire, Leland Brown and Lynette Brown. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Luginbuel Funeral Home. The funeral will be held Friday, March 14, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Vinita, with Pastor Bob Johns officiating.
