Fred F. Scott, age 81, of Chelsea, OK died Thursday September 17, 2009 at the V.A. Medical Center in Muskogee, OK. He was born December 20, 1927 in Galena, Kansas the son of James F. Scott and Ursie Henderson Scott. The family moved to Vinita where he was raised and received his education graduating high school. In March of 1946 Fred enlisted in the U. S. Army Air Corps and served in WW11 as a Tele type mechanic. Fred and Katherine Myers were united in marriage on April 19, 1966 and she preceded him in death in December of 1999. In the early eighties the family returned from California to the Chelsea area to make their home. Fred worked many years as a carpenter and helped build the Prayer Tower at Oral Roberts University. He and Katherine owned and operated Scotts Green House in Chelsea. He enjoyed gardening, working puzzles, crosswords, reading, and playing the guitar. He is survived by his children, Debbie West of Chelsea, OK, Cindy Scott of Chelsea, OK, Dana Johnston of Tulsa, OK, Nick Scott of Lawton, OK, Chris Corbett of Tulsa, OK, Linda Baker of Columbus, KS, Keith Strangler of Claremore, OK and Bobby Aston of Texas, three brothers, Martin Scott and Jeffery Scott both of Stockton, CA, Sherman Scott of Grove, OK, three sisters, Inez Henson, Judy Collins and Barbara Scott all of Tulsa, OK, 17grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be Saturday September 19, 2009 at Luginbuel Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Garry Wilson officiating. Online condolences may be made at honoringmemories.com.
