Freddy Joe Cates, 76, of Langley, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2007 at Rosewood Terrace in Vinita, OK. Born on Jan. 3, 1931 in Parsons, Kansas to George and Ruth Cates. Freddy had lived in the area since 2003, moving from California. He retired after 41 years as an engineer for Santa Fe Railroad. Veteran of WWII serving in the Army. Owner of Langley Flea Market, Radio Shack and Furniture Store. He was married to Lindy Perry on April 19, 2003 in Cleora. He is survived by his wife Lindy 3 Children; Judy Beadles of Newhall, CA, Debbi Moody of Mission Hills, CA and Kathleen Canterine of Chatsworth, CA 3 Stepchildren; Greg Pound of Langley, Tim Pound of McAlester and Jennifer Green of Jay. 1 Brother-Richard Cates. 4 Grandchildren; Tamara Venable, Melvin Leon Moody, Jr., Frederick Canterine and Julian Canterine. 5 Step-Grandchildren; Nick McElroy, Josh McElroy, Clinton Pound, Shay Green and Brandy Green. 2 Great Grandchildren; Brianna Edwards and Kevin Venable II. Private Family Services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home of Langley, OK.
