Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home - 918-782-4400.... Frederick Claude Yelton, 87 year old Jenks resident, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017. Frederick was born in Ottawa, KS on October 23, 1929 to Lee and Hilda (Jones) Yelton. He graduated from Iola High School in 1948. He proudly served in the United States Army earning 2 Bronze Stars, the Korean Service Medal, and the United Nations Service Medal. On August 25, 1958 he was united in marriage to Beverly Phegley. He worked for PSO for 33 years until retiring. He was a member of the South Grand Lake Christian Church in Ketchum, the Adair Chapter 443 of the Eastern Star, Masonic Lodge Delta 425, the American Legion Post 40, the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry where he was a 32nd Degree Mason, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, IBEW 1002 Union, and the NRA. Survivors include his son William "Bill" Yelton of Birmingham, AL, daughter Patricia "Patty" Yelton of Jenks, OK, sister-in-law Pat Yelton of Claremore, OK, brother-in-law Eddie Phegley of Olathe, KS, three grandchildren: Ireland Yelton, Mason Yelton, and Jagger Yelton, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Preceded in death by his parents, wife Beverly Yelton, son Richard Yelton, brother George Yelton, and three sisters: Barbara Nance, Francine Gnagy, and Carol Heinlein. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the South Grand Lake Christian Church in Ketchum with Rev. Gina Jackson officiating.
