Mrs. Frenchie Belle Hines, 85 years old, died Monday February 2, 2009 at Forrest Manor Nursing Home in Dewey where she had been a resident since Friday, January 30, 2009. Frenchie Belle Hines was born in Peggs, Oklahoma. She was raised and educated in Jenks graduating from high school in 1942. Edward L. Hines and Frenchie Belle (Still) Hines were united in marriage in 1941 in Jenks Oklahoma. Mr. Hines joined the US Navy during World War II and served in the Pacific Fleet and later stationed in San Diego, California where they lived before returning to Oklahoma. The family moved to Dewey in 1948 and Frenchie has continued her home there since that time. Frenchie worked at Foodtown and Ray's Thrifty Wise for many years. Frenchie was a member of the Dewey United Methodist Church and was a charter member of Sunset Country Club where she had won several club and city championships. She was also a member of Peacemakers Quilt Guild and Ladies Auxiliary at Jane Phillips Hospital. Frenchie and Edward were avid golfers and bowlers. She loved cooking for and spending time with her family. Mrs. Hines is survived by her three children Carolyn Francis of Coffeyville, Kansas, Judy Taylor and her husband Gary of Dewey and Edward L. Hines Jr. and his wife Jayne of Dewey, Five grandchildren, Jennifer Ann Taylor, Lance Edward Hill of Coffeyville, Kansas, Tonya Kay Poor and her husband, Scott of Omaha, Nebraska, David Michael Hines and his wife Carrie of Allen, Texas and Kristin Marie Crawford and her husband Gary of Bartlesville, Six Great Grandchildren. Bailey Kerns of Wann, Ok, Belle Poor of Omaha, Nebraska, Corbin Hines and Chloe Hines both of Allen, Texas and Kaili Crawford and Connor Crawford both of Bartlesville. She is preceded in death by her husband Edward L. Hines Sr., her parents, two sisters and one brother. Graveside services for Mrs. Hines will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 5, 2009 at the Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Rick Robart of the Dewey United Methodist Church will preside over the services, with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
