Garland Jones

Garland "Buck" Jones, age 82 of Miami, died Thursday, December 29, 2011. Buck was born in Narcissa, OK on March 15, 1929, the son of Jack and Bernice (Burnett) Jones. Buck worked for numerous years as a welder for Lone Star Steel in Colorado before moving to Miami. He enjoyed fishing, guns, and collecting knives. Survivors include his sister Vera Jarvis of Miami, brother James Coble and wife Rush of Cushing, nieces Marsha Martins and husband Keith of Vinita, Terri Lane and husband Jim of Cleora, nephews Wayne Jarvis and wife Jana of Miami, and Tom Jarvis and wife Pam of Bernice. He is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Bernice Jones, brother Kenneth Jones, and brother-in-law Norman Jarvis. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Sixkiller Cemetery with Pastor Richard Whetsell officiating. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
