Luginbuel Funeral Home Vinita, 918 -256 -5555.........Gary Ray Weaver passed away May 6, 2017 with his loving family near his side at his home in Cleora, Ok. Gary was born on July 15th, 1946 in Vinita, Ok to Estey J. Weaver and Ruth Dirickson. Gary attended school at Ironside School in Vinita and graduated from Vinita High School in 1964. Throughout his school years, he lived with his grandparents Estey and Anna Weaver and his Aunt, Linda Brown - whom he considered his sister. Gary enlisted in the Army in Echo Company 1/11 Infantry, First Brigade, Fifth Infantry Division Mechanized, Recon-Reaper Team 7. He graduated Fifth Special Forces Group - Sniper School (Airborne). He was also awarded the Bronze Star. Gary returned to Vinita following his service and married Myralouise Faith Grayson on December 1, 1973. At the time of his passing he and Myra made their home in Grand Tara near the waters of Grand Lake. Gary was raised in the First Baptist Church of Vinita, and in recent years attended Church on the Lake of Ketchum. He was a skilled painter and contractor by trade. Those who knew him knew he would do anything to help a friend. As an avid hunter and fisherman, Gary enjoyed life every day in the outdoors. His favorite hobbies were fishing, noodling, hunting, and looking for Native American artifacts. In recent years he reconnected with his Vietnam brothers received immense pleasure from watching his granddaughters grow up. Gary is survived by his wife Myra of 43 years, his mother Ruth Dirickson, two sons - Gary Ray Weaver II and wife Bree of Norman, Ok. and Lowell Abraham Weaver of Cleora, Ok. Two granddaughters, Alexandra and Anna Weaver. Two sisters Judy Bradley of Adair, Ok. and Janet Burns of Joplin, Mo. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Estey and Anna Weaver, and grandparents Dan and Bessie Burke. His father Estey Weaver Jr. and step-father Louis Dirickson. He was also preceded in death by his brother Louis Wayne Dirickson II. A Celebration of Life will be held May 20 at 1:00pm with Pastor Mark Deckard officiating at Gran Tara clubhouse in Cleora followed by graveside services with Military rites at McLaughlin Cementary at Cleora at 3:00pm On-line condolences may be submitted to www.honoringmemories.com
