Geneva B. Wiley, a long-time resident of the Grove area, died August 13, 2012. Geneva was born September 10, 1916 in Tonkawa, Oklahoma, the second daughter of Jim and Eva (Smith) Dorsett. She attended Tonkawa schools, including UPS which is now known as Northern State College, and Oklahoma State University, graduating in 1938 with a BA degree when the school was known as Oklahoma A&M College. She was asked to teach classes in the OSU Business department and began her Master's Degree studies. On June 4, 1942, she married Donald L. Wiley at the home of her parents in Tonkawa, Oklahoma. They made their homes in Oklahoma City and Oskaloosa, Iowa, where Don was circulation manager of newspapers. In 1953 they moved to Grove and purchased The Grove Sun and later the Delaware County Journal. Geneva retired in 1978 and took up golf as a pastime. But her happiest times were spent with her children, grandchildren, and friends. She was a member of the First Christian Church, the Grove library board, which she chaired for many years, and was a lifetime member of Eastern Star. Survivors include her daughter Jennifer Caudill of Arvada, CO, son and wife David and Beth Wiley, Carrollton, TX, son Robert Wiley, Lakewood, CO, granddaughter and husband Cathy and Jordan Brown, Thornton, CO, four grandsons, Roger Caudill, Arvada, CO, Tim Wiley and wife Chrissy of San Diego, CA, Steven Wiley of Carrollton, TX and Matt Wiley of Grapevine, TX; sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and Tom Loescher of Tucson, AZ, sister-in-law Ann Dorsett and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Geneva was preceded in death by her husband Donald L. Wiley, sister, Glennyce Cooley, brother Blaine Dorsett, and son-in-law Jake Caudill. Memorials may be made in Geneva's name to the Grove Public Library or Good Shepherd Hospice. Visitation will be 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home on Sunday evening, August 19, 2012. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Monday, August 20, 2012, at First Christian Church. A private family burial will follow at Olympus Cemetery.
