Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma 918-786-2261, George Leroy Husong, 86 year old resident of Grove, passed away on November 2, 2017. George was born on September 23, 1931 in Jay, Oklahoma. He was the son of Everet M. and Viola (Baker) Husong. After graduating from Jay High School, George left Delaware County in 1952, then entered the Army in 1953, but married the love of his life Juanita June Jackson before deployment. George proudly served for 16 months during the Korean War. After his discharge, George entered the automotive sales industry, where he purchased his own dealership in 1963. They returned to Delaware County 1968 and purchased the Chevy dealership in Grove, recorded as one of the largest business transactions at that time. George owned and operated his used car lot in Grove until his health would no longer allow. George was an avid member of both the Elks Lodge and VFW organizations. George was preceded in death by his parents, Everet and Viola Husong, his son George Leroy "Roy" Husong, Jr., two brothers; Charlie Husong and Lloyd Husong and four sisters; Marie Huckaby, Leona Tauuneacie, Roberta Willians and Glenda Marrow. He leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Juanita Husong, two daughters; Sherry Elaine Griffith and Katrina Alisa Pate, two brothers; Frank Husong (Ginny) and Robert Husong (Jolanda). George was blessed with eight grandchildren; George Husong III, Adam Husong, Neal Husong, Mason Pate, Sarah Hastings, Tra Griffith, Jeremy Griffith and Nicholas Griffith, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchild. The family will gather at 6:00 pm on Saturday November 25, 2017 at the Elk's Lodge in Grove, Oklahoma for a time of sharing stories and tall tales.
