Georgia Madeleine (Marrs) Corle passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the Osage Nursing Home in Nowata. She was born on August 10, 1930, at Delaware, Oklahoma to Edgar and Jennie Pearl (Kirk) Marrs. She attended school in Delaware, graduating in 1949. She married Howard Corle on June 15, 1949. Preferring to be called Madeleine, she was the tom-boy of all the sisters, so she helped her father Ed run the family farm while her brothers were away during World War II. Madeleine and Howard have spent their life working on the farm in the Childers area, and caring for their animals, which included cattle, sheep, and they also raised hay, grain, and food gardens. In the early years she worked in sewing factories in Nowata and Chelsea. At one time they were owners of the Childers Grocery Store, which they ran for several years. She was a hard worker, a good wife, mother, and grandmother. She cared deeply for others, and set an example of love and compassion for us all. She was also a good daughter, and a wonderful sister to her siblings. Her hobby was researching family genealogy. She is survived by her husband, Howard, of the home; children, Glenda and her husband, Lawrence Soloy, of Belton, Missouri, William (Bil) Corle and wife Mary of Delaware, and Robert (Bob) Corle and wife Joanne of Parsons, Kansas; one brother, Bob Marrs and wife Betty, of Amarillo, Texas, sisters: Lorene French, Nowata, Geneva Marrs of South Dayton, Florida, and Virginia Temple of Salem, Utah. Also survived by her grandchildren: Granddaughters: Cary Ann Soloy, Katy Thomas, Paula Osborne, Grandsons: Gates Soloy, Thomas Corle, Robert (Robbie) and Stevie Corle, Jr., Howard (HC) and Amanda Corle, Step grandson: Bill and Christine Hellyer, step granddaughters: Tammy Swalley, Tracy Swalley, Diana Coram, and by 28 great grandchildren, 7 great, great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a grandson, Clay Soloy. Also by brothers, Roy Marrs, Guy Marrs, Charles (Buster) Marrs, Eugene (Gene) Marrs, Bill Burdine, and Charlie Burdine; and sisters, Goldie Burdine and Ollie Lee Parret. Also by in-laws, William C. and Pearle Corle and brother-in-laws Harry Temple, Burl French, Orval Parret, and Leonard Corle. And by sister-in-laws Edith Tidball and Claudine Marrs. The family appreciates the care provided by Crossroads Hospice and the Osage Nursing Home Staff; especially family members working there: Amanda Corle, Stevie Corle, Kayla Rogers, Kelsey Corle and Katilyne Keeler. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Osage Nursing Home, Nowata, OK for equipment to help with daily tasks. Funeral Services for Georgia Corle will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Wendell Abbott officiating.
