Together they moved to Iola, Kansas where they raised their three children. Georgia was elected to the office of county treasurer and served for ten years. She and her husband Harold then worked together in their auto dealership until they sold the business in 1986 and moved to the Grand Lake area. Harold and Georgia continued to work together, but in another area. She got her real estate license and they bought properties, cleaned them up, fix what needed to be fixed and sold them. She has had the opportunity of meeting many people and finding just the right home for them. She retired from Crye-Leike Realtors in Grove on December 31, 2014. She was a volunteer at the Jana Jae Grand Lake Festivals, the Grand Lake Association and the Chamber of Commerce who named her volunteer of the year in 2004. She was a member of the Eastern Star for over 50 years and was honored by the Red Cross for continued years of donating over 19 gallons of blood. Georgia continued to live in the house she and Harold built on the banks of Grand Lake and kept up the yard, house, realty work and her travels with the Grand Travelers of Grand Savings Bank. She also enjoyed her travels with her brother Lyle to Alaska and through the Panama Canal.
