Luginbuel Funeral Home, Vinita, Oklahoma 918-256-5555......Gerald Franklin (Southern) Slone, 50-year-old Welch resident passed away at his home in Welch on Monday, March 19, 2018. He was born June 23, 1967 in Tacoma, Washington to Gerald Franklin Southern Sr. and Anna Marie (Evans) Wilson. He was a graduate of Altamont, Kansas High School. Franklin worked as a home health aide and enjoyed playing bingo and games of chance. He also managed convivence stores in Georgia. While living in Ohio he enjoyed participating in outdoor theater plays. He loved decorating his home for Christmas and would have a tree in every room. His home was open to the public for Christmas tours for all to see all the decorations. Franklin was a very happy man that enjoyed making other people laugh and smile. He truly loved his brothers, sisters, and all his family. He held each one of them in his heart. Franklin will be missed by all who knew him. Surviving Franklin Slone are his father, Gerald Franklin Southern Sr. of Rock Springs, Georgia; step-mother Leona Southern of Rock Springs; mother, Anna Marie Evans Wilson, of Welch; step-father, Holly Wilson, of Welch; his two cats that he loved like his children, Callie, and Cleo; siblings, Deanna Marquis and husband Tony, of Vinita, Carrie Camp and husband Gary of Hollister, Missouri, William Irving Southern of Welch, Patricia Amos and husband Jeffery, of Dalton, Georgia, Carolyn Parker and husband Blue of Chickamauga, Georgia, Thomas Southern and wife Nikki, of Chatsworth, Georgia, Mary Newport and husband Jeff, of Chatsworth, Georgia, Tony Southern and wife Lacee, of Chatsworth, Georgia; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
