Geraldine Y. "Jerri" Harney-Barnes, born January 31, 1930 in Nowata, Oklahoma to E.F. Harney and Zola Clifford-Harney, went to be with the Lord on January 4, 2009. "Jerri" was the fourth of nine children. Jerri was married to Clyde Barnes in 1954. From this union came a daughter Rebecca Barnes-Sheddon of Jacksonville, Florida; a son Robert Barnes of Jenks; and four grandchildren, Mathew, Peter, Molly, and Maya. Jerri and the family lived from 1957 to 1986 in Venezuala, Indonesia, and Norway as employees of Phillips Petroleum Company. Jerri was proud to have made the May 1955 cover of the "Philnews". After retirement, they returned to Tulsa in 1989. Jerri was a member of the Broken Arrow Church of Christ for the last five years. Additional survivors include her husband Clyde Barnes of the home in Tulsa; a sister Pat Harrison of Bartlesville; brothers, Tom Harney of Pryor, Jr. Harney of Nowata, Doug Harney of Tulsa; and another sister, Judy Harney of Bartlesville. Jerry was preceded in death by brothers, W.J. Harney, Bud Harney, Hank Harney. Funeral services for Mrs. Barnes will be held at 10:00a.m., Thursday, January 8, 2009 at the Broken Arrow Church of Christ, 505 E. Kenosha, with Scott Keele officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:00p.m. in the McMains Cemetery (10 miles east of Nowata on highway 60 then 2 miles north on Road 424).
