Geraldine Martin Mrs. Geraldine Martin 81, of Nowata formally of Lenapah passed away Thursday August 21, 2008 at her daughter's residence in Oklahoma City. Geraldine was born on February 24, 1927 in Hickory Creek, Oklahoma to William and Alberta (Brown) Chambers. She married Aaron Martin Sr. in 1942, together they raised their eight children. Geraldine was an active member of the Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witness Church. She truly was rewarded in her field work and door to door ministry. She enjoyed sightseeing, visiting new places, and playing games especially dominos. Geraldine was an excellent cook and enjoyed her garden from which she did a lot of canning. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy in life they always warmed her heart. Geraldine is survived by her eight children Walter and his wife Anita Martin of Altadena, CA., Rosetta Fisher and her husband Emanuel Dimson of Oklahoma City, Herman and his wife Wanda Martin of Oklahoma City, Nealie Martin of Coffeyville, Gary Martin and his wife Juanita Martin of Coffeyville, Aaron Martin Jr. of Ponca City, Geraldine and her husband David Butts of Rolette, TX., and Roger Martin of Coffeyville, one sister Willa Mae Allen of Del City, Oklahoma, 27 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Aaron Martin Sr. and her parents William and Alberta Chambers. Funeral services for Mrs. Martin are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 26, 2008 in the Benjamin Funeral Home Chapel in Nowata with Brother Harold Cheek officiating. Final committal rites will be accorded Mrs. Martin in the Hickory Creek Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of the Benjamin Funeral Service.
