Gertrude Stafford

Gertrude "Trudy" L. Stafford, 90, formerly of Vinita, passed away on Friday at the Methodist Hospital of Mansfield, Texas. Born on May 29, 1916 in Vinita to Arthur Newton and Blanche Ellen (Calton) Justus. She moved to Arizona as a child and married Ernest Stafford on May 31, 1945 in New Mexico. They lived in the Dowagiac and Niles, MI area for 35 years and moved to Vinita in 1977. She was a retired supervisor for Simplicity Pattern Co. She was a member of the First Church of God in Vinita. Her husband passed away on April 24, 2000. She then moved to Lillian, TX in 2005 to live with a granddaughter and her husband, Lynn and Steve McElhenney. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 3 children; Luella M. Epps, Jack L. McKnight and Robert McKnight. One sister-Josie Long also preceded her in death. She is survived by a half sister Laverne and half brother Arthur, Jr., Nieces;B.J. Long of Tulsa, Gaylae Cantrell of Florida and Nephew-Darryl Justus of Phoenix. 10 Grandchildren 20 Great Grandchildren 15 Great-Great Grandchildren Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 19, 2007 from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Luginbuel Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Eddie Wrinkle and Pastor Steve Darden officiating. Burial will be in the Mission Hills Memorial Gardens of Niles, MI. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the OLD RUGGED CROSS Foundation, P.O. Box 484, Niles, MI 49120 Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita, OK.
