Gladys Wofford 93 year-old long time Vinita resident, died early Sunday, October 14, 2007, at Heartsworth Assisted Living. She was born August 23, 1914 on a farm near Mountain View and Cowden, Oklahoma to L. J. and Annie Elizabeth (Hipp) Willis. Gladys married Glen Wofford on August 22, 1932 in Miami; Glen preceded her in death on January 29, 1970. Gladys was a member of First Baptist Church of Vinita and active in Vinita Senior Citizens Center. She liked to quilt, sew, make her children's favorite meals, keep the grandkids in cookies and spending time with her family. The family includes; her children, Bud Wofford and wife Frances of Choctaw, Barbara Davis of Elk City, Glenda Allen and husband Jim of Aurora, Colorado, daughter in-law, Donna Wofford of Vinita, nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, eleven great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives, and a very special granddaughter Wendy Wofford. Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, a son, Jackie Lee Wofford on March 5, 1999, brothers, W. T. Willis, Pearlie Willis, Wayne Willis, sisters, Burley Willis and Bessie Clayton. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Vinita, with Pastor Skip McClain officiating.
