Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK....918-786-2261....Glen L. Norton, age 83, passed from this life on September 19, 2014 at his home on Grand Lake of the Cherokees, Grove, OK with his family at his bedside after a short illness. Glen was born on February 8, 1931 in Lomax, KS, the son of the late Glen W. Norton and Rachel (Schlegal) Norton. He had no siblings. His wife and children were his family most of his life. He and Connie Ames were married in Lawrence, KS on August 26, 1956 and remained together for 58 years. To this union they had three sons: Glen Stephen, Michal Scott, and Mark Leslie. Glen was a resident of Wellington, KS from 1957 to 2012. He worked at the original Welco facility. He served as Director of Quality Assurance and remained with the company 41 years retiring from Tect Aerospace as it is now named. Glen was a life member of the Wellington VFW Post 881 and was a 50 year member of the Wellington American Legion. He served his country in the United States Navy from June 1949 to April 1953. He enjoyed camping, fishing, bowling, and family holidays and vacations. His family loved his cheese enchiladas and ribs. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Connie of the home; three sons: Glen Stephen Norton of Wellington, KS, Michael Scott Norton of Wellington, KS, and Mark Leslie Norton of Grove, OK; grandchildren: Keifer, Austin, Dusttin, Aaron, and Mallory; three great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. The graveside memorial service will be held at the Highland Cemetery in Ottawa, KS on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 12PM.
