Glenn Hilburn Dale, age 90, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma died Sunday, May 11th, 2014 at his home in Tall Grass Estates. Glenn was born August 25, 1923, in Mountain Park, Oklahoma, to the late Otis E. Dale and Eula Hoover Dale. Glenn graduated in 1941 from Classen High School in Oklahoma City, and received his Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Oklahoma three years later. He immediately joined Phillips Petroleum Company, spending the next 41 years serving primarily in the Research and Development Group; He retired in 1985. Glenn was a Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, Emeritus American Chemical Society and Oklahoma Professional Engineer. Glenn was a long time member of East Cross United Methodist Church where he taught adult Bible study and served as chairman of the administrative board for many years. He was also active in the formation of the Samaritan Counseling Center in Bartlesville. Glenn had a passion for being outdoors, particularly in his gardens. He and his loving wife of 66 years, Vivian, traveled extensively, particularly in the retirement years. Glenn took great joy from reading and studying. Glenn is survived by his wife, Vivian Jewitt Dale; along with daughters; Denise Fuller and husband Craig of Circleville, Ohio, and Marsha Grindle and husband Scott of Tulsa, grandchildren; Anna Grindle Hartung and husband Matt of Broken Arrow and Allison Grindle, of Dallas, Texas, and great-grandchild; Amy Hartung. Glenn is also survived by sisters; Phyllis Dotson and husband Ray of Tulsa and JoAnne Teegardin and husband John of Taos Canyon, New Mexico, brother-in-laws; Bob Williams of Millville, California and Paul T. Bryant of Arden, North Carolina, and many loving nieces, nephews and relatives. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter; Laura Dale Plaster and two sisters; Charlene Dale Williams and Genevieve Dale Bryant.
