Gordon Dean Humphrey passed from this life Monday, January 5, 2015 in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was born in Lancaster, Kentucky on November 25, 1934 to Clarence and Alma (Murphy) Humphrey. He attended school in Dayton, Ohio and on January 13, 1954 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served until his discharge on December 18, 1957. On September 26, 1965 he married the love of his life, Sybilla Miller, in Senath, Missouri. Mr. Humphrey was a minister serving both as an evangelist as well as church pastor at times. He loved his duties ministering to people and touched many lives. He always had a smile and a way of letting you know that someone cared for you. He never spoke badly about anyone and always had time for anyone needing help. Above all he had a special place in his heart for his family. His wife, children, grandchildren, and other family were very special to him and his love for them was everlasting. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him. Preceding Mr. Humphrey in death are his parents, Clarence and Alma Humphrey, and his brothers, Robert, James, Clay, Jess and J.C. Humphrey and two sisters, Geneva Edmonston, and Mae Mudd. His survivors include his loving wife, Sybilla Humphrey, a son, Jon and his wife Chrissie Humphrey, a daughter, Rita Johnston and her companion, Paul Gellenbeck, grandchildren Corey Jordan Humphrey, Andrew Dean Humphrey, Hannah Nicole Humphrey, Abigail Rose Humphrey, Emily Caitlin Johnston, Lorren Bailey Johnston, Justin Dean Gellenbeck, many other relatives, and a host of friends. Funeral services are 9:00 A.M., Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the First Church of God with Bro. Leslie Busbee officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, OK.
