Gordon A. Nieman, age 90 and former longtime resident of Dewey, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at 4:35 AM at Arbor Village in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Gordon A. Nieman was born October 9, 1924 at Arlington, Nebraska. He was the son of Albert and Ruby (Bierman) Nieman. He received his schooling in Arlington. Gordon served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II. On November 8, 1953, Gordon and the former Wanda L. Dosh were united in marriage in Arlington, Nebraska where they made their first home. Gordon and Wanda moved to Dewey, Oklahoma in August of 1960where he was employed by the Reda Pump Company. He retired from the company in 1986. Mrs. Nieman preceded him in death on May 9, 1997 and he later moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he lived with his daughter. Gordon is survived by two daughters, Linda Robinson and her husband, Mike, of Boise, Idaho and Arlys Spiker and Carl Leonard of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one daughter-in-law, Valerie Nieman of Langley, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ruby Nieman and his son, Douglas Nieman. Funeral services for Gordon will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 3:00 PM in the Arnold Moore and Neekamp Funeral Home chapel. Interment will occur at a later date in the Wann Cemetery, Oologah, Oklahoma beside the grave of his wife, Wanda. Rev. Tom Cox will be the officiant.
