Grace Frances Barron, 91 year old Vinita resident, died Thursday evening August 27, 2009 at the Craig General Hospital. She was born on May 18, 1918 in Baron, Oklahoma to Henry and Rose (Waits) Black. Grace married Woodrow Lynn Barron in Fayetteville, Arkansas in 1938, he preceded her in death in December of 1994. They had lived in Long Beach, California for 38 years, in Vinita from 1977 to 1989, was in Tulsa for several years and had just recently moved back to Vinita. Grace was a homemaker, she loved cooking and doing her house chores, as well as collecting Red Birds. The family includes: a daughter, Carol Pierce and husband Charles of Tulsa, a sister, Maxine Black of Tulsa, a brother, Fred Black of Fayetteville, Arkansas; grandchildren, Pamela Schnath of Tulsa, Bobby Pierce of Vinita, Woodrow Lynn Barron, III of St. George, Utah, Jeff Pierce of Garfield, Arkansas; seven great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her husband, a son, Woodrow Lynn Barron, Jr. in 1977, a granddaughter, Keri Barron in October of 2008. The graveside funeral will be held Monday, August 31, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Westville Cemetery, in Westville, Oklahoma, with Pastor Skip McClain officiating.
