Grace Billam

Grace Lavonne Billam, 91, retired Lodge Director for Woolaroc, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2009 at Heritage Villa Nursing Center. A native of Oklahoma, Mrs. Billam was born in Wann, Ok. December 10, 1917, the daughter of William Mark Barbee and Inez (Medlin) Barbee. Grace was raised and educated in the Bartlesville area. She was united in marriage with Joe Billam July 15, 1936 in Bartlesville. They made their home at Woolaroc, where both Joe and she were employed for many years. Grace retired on December 10, 1979 with 43 years of service. Mrs. Billam is survived by her daughter, Sandra Torres of Oklahoma City, Ok, one grandson, George Torres, Jr., one granddaughter Joni Shannon, three great grandchildren, Tony Torres, Joey Shannon and Riley Shannon, two brothers, Carl Barbee of Wilmington Delaware and Grover Barbee of Bartlesville, three sisters, Coney Allan of West Memphis, Tennessee, Alois Barbee of Odessa, Texas and Jerry Barbee of Seneca, Missouri. She is preceded in death by her husband Joe Billam, her parents, two brothers and three sisters. Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday June 11, 2009 at 10:00 am in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home.
