Grace Edwards

Grace Ailleen Edwards, 86 year old resident of Vinita, died Monday December 5, 2011 at the Integris Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami. She was born on November 6, 1925 in Bartlesville to Clarence and Florence (Carlson) Graham. Grace was a graduate of Copan High School. She was married to Carl Dean Edwards on December 12, 1942 in Bartlesville. They had lived in Tulsa for several years, where she was employed by Sunray/DX Oil Company as a secretary. They purchased a farm north of Vinita in 1972 and have lived there ever since. Her husband Carl Dean died in March of 2008. Grace was an excellent seamstress, quilt maker and cook. The family includes: a son Ted A. Edwards of Vinita; and a sister, Wanda Jane Newman of Bartlesville. The graveside funeral will be held Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney, Kansas, with Pastor Justin Brown officiating. She will lie in state on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Dewey Funeral Home, Dewey, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
