Benjamin Funeral Service - Nowata, Oklahoma - 918-273-2700...................................... Gracia Lorene Patterson (nee Boyd), 88, of St. Louis, Missouri passed away on January 28th, 2017. Lorene, as her friends called her, was born in Nowata, Oklahoma on March 13, 1928 to Marvin Arthur and Arzada (Casebeer) Boyd. Arzada later married Carl Sequichie who loved and raised Lorene. She attended Childers Grade School and Nowata High where she met her lifelong friend Neva Hicks (nee Hilburn). She married the love of her life Monte Floyd Patterson on July 5th, 1944. They celebrated 51 years of marriage and 5 children, 2 that have preceded her in death, Dale and Monte Carl. After a couple of moves the family settled in St. Louis, Missouri where Lorene resided for 53 years. She was always a hardworking mother and a strong soul that put her family first. Lorene is survived by her son Wayne Patterson (Brenda) of Huntington Beach, California, her daughters Jeanne Birkenmeier and Kathy Inkley (Kevin) of Overland Park, Kansas. Grandchildren Jeff Patterson, Chris Edmonds, Daniel Radke (Amanda), Shannon Urnes (Joel), Megan, Kristin, Taylor Inkley and 6 Great Grandchildren. Services will be held at Benjamin Funeral Home.
