Luginbuel Funeral Home - Vinita - 918-256-5555..... Grover Ray Smith Sr., 66, went to be with the Lord on Saturday August 19th, 2017. He was born May 14, 1951 in Vinita, OK to Max and Blanche Smith. He attended Vinita High School. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1968 and served in the Vietnam War. He owned and operated GR & K Trucking for many years. Before the trucking business he worked as a backhoe and crane operator. Grover married Sally Haskell in December 1968 and had three children. She preceded him in death. He married Kim McVay on April 1st, 2000 and gained an additional four children. Grover spent a number of weekends at the drag strip. He really loved fast cars and made several lifelong friends there. He also enjoyed jeeping and wheeling within the local jeep community. Grover had a large family that he loved dearly. He cherished time spent with them. His greatest joy was being called Papa by so many that loved him. He is survived by his wife Kim Smith of the home; Grover Ray Smith II (G2) and his wife Pam of Afton; Gary Smith and wife Allison of Afton; Josh Huffman and wife Megan of Adair; Cabe Huffman and wife Jamie of Vinita; Christina Carter and husband Timmy of Vinita; Caanan Huffman and wife Heather of Vinita and Beeper Huffman and wife Lindsey of Vinita. His brother Steve Smith and wife Mary of Vinita; Joe Sanders of Broken Arrow and sister Carolyn Humphries of Miami. His father in law Wayne McVay and his wife Joyce of Diamond, MO. His brother in laws Mike McVay of Miami and Curt McVay and wife Debbie of Bluejacket. Also, 21 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, loved ones and a large circle of wonderful friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Max and Blanche Smith, father and mother in law O.C. and Beth Macklin, one brother Bill Sanders and son in law Kenny Stevens. Family will receive friends and loved ones on Wednesday August 23, 2017 from 6 to 8 PM at Luginbuel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Cowboy Junction Church in Vinita with Brother Allen Byrd officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Vinita.
