Former Vinita resident, Hargestine Curtis, age 86, died Thursday November 5, 2009 at Claremore Nursing Home. Hargestine was born in Davenport, OK on October 2, 1923 the daughter of Kelly Day ad Beulah (Barksdale) Day. She was raised and educated in Tulsa, OK but spent most of her adult life in Wagoner, OK as the owner/operator of Taco Hut. In 1942 she was united in marriage to Guy Henley. In 1948 she married Michael Lambert and in 1965 married Wayne Curtis. Hargestine was a member of Freewill Baptist Church, Vinita. She loved her family and attending family reunions. She also enjoyed baking and gardening. Hargestine is survived by her 6 children: Linda Higgins of White Oak, Jim Henley of Bartlesville, Debby Todd of Ft. Gibson, Terri Trowbridge of Olympia, Washington, Anita Oldham of Mustang, OK, and Kenny Lambert of Tulsa, 23 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, one son-in-law, and 4 grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday November 8, 2009 from 4-6 p.m. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday November 9, 2009 at the Freewill Baptist Church of Vinita with Pastor Justin Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner, OK. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com.
