Harland Addington, 68 year-old lifetime Jay resident, died Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. Harland was born December 4, 1938 in Jay to Houston and Thelma (Earp) Addington. He graduated from Jay High School and served in the United States Army. Harland retired from Oklahoma Department of Transportation where he worked for over 25 years, retiring as Superintendent. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardner, and loved his grandchildren and chickens. The family includes: two sons, Charles Addington of Jay, Robert Addington and wife Melody Dawn of Coweta, four brothers, Garland, Tony and Larry Addington all of Tulsa, Kline Addington of Yukon, one sister Leta Martin of Bluejacket, five grandchildren, Gregory, Austin, Hunter, Jayden, and Kyliee Addington, and one aunt Maxine Callis of Jay. The funeral service will be held Friday, January 26, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Hermon Church in Jay. Interment will follow at the Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
