Grove, Oklahoma Harold Dale Leap passed away March 15, 2007 at Integris Grove General Hospital. He was born March 13, 1923 in Shidler, Oklahoma to Harold and Minnie (Clark) Leap. He graduated with the class of 1940 from Caldwell High School in Caldwell, KS. Later he graduated from Pittsburg State College in Pittsburg, Kansas and also attended the University of California at Berkley, CA. He married Ruth Horn in 1942. Together they had one daughter and four sons. Ruth survives at home. Harold served his country honorably in the United States Coast Guard during World War II. Upon his return from the service, he farmed the family farm near Bartlett, KS for fourteen years, feeding cattle and raising wheat. He began working for the federal government in the early 1960's as a Special Agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration. He served three years as Justice Attaché at the American Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan. During the years 1976 through 1978, Harold served on the House Select Committee on Assassinations, investigating the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy and the Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, two brothers, one grandson, Chad, and a son, Jeffery. He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Ruth Ellen. He leaves a daughter, Lynn Thornton, of Arvada, California and four sons: Michael Leap of Blue Springs, Missouri; David Leap of Caney, Kansas; Mark Leap of Grain Valley, Missouri and Tom Leap of Independence, Missouri. He leaves fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 19, 2007, at the Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma. Graveside committal services will be held at 3:00 P.M. at the Lake Creek Cemetery at Bartlett, Kansas. Services are entrusted to Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove, Oklahoma.
