Harold Shaffer

Harold "Gene" Shaffer, 62 year old resident of Vinita, died Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at his home. He was born March 17, 1948 in Fairland, Oklahoma to Lewis and Gladys (Hahn) Shaffer. Gene had been a resident at Home of Hope for nearly 32 years. He worked at the area Woodshed Convenience Stores. Gene enjoyed fishing, playing pool, watching birds and deer by the feeders he took care of. The family includes: a sister Roxanna Fowler of Kansas, Oklahoma and a brother, Troy Dane Shaffer of Lakemont Shores, east of Disney and his many friends. His parents and a brother Bobby B. Shaffer preceded him in death. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 Friday at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the Luginbuel Chapel, with Donna Kerr officiating. Interment will follow at the Kansas Cemetery, in Kansas, Oklahoma.
