Wyandotte, OK - Harold D. Smith, 81, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Landmark Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. He was born on January 23, 1929 in Ottawa County, Oklahoma to Joe Bearskin and Iola (Smith) Waldon. Harold served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked for an aluminum plant in Oregon. Harold married Vera (Mathis) Frazier on May 18, 2000 in Hood River, Oregon. He had lived in the Wyandotte area for eight years moving from Oregon. Harold enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working on cars. He was a member of the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma. Survivors include his wife Vera of the home; his children Betty Wollam and Sherry Taylor both of Milwaukee, OR, and Harold Smith, Jr. of Hood River, OR; stepchildren Darrell Frazier and Dale Frazier both of Wyandotte, OK and Brenda Brock of Fairland, OK; one brother, Tommy Ray Waldon of Hood River, OR; one sister Vestena "Foxie" Emerson of Grove, OK; five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, John Smith. Indian services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, September 17, 2010 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home with Ceremonial Chief Charlie Deibold officiating. Visitation will follow the service.
