Harriette J. Carver of Grove, OK and Daytona Beach, FL died on October 26, 2015. Born to James and Virginia Carver of Roxboro, NC on March 22, 1938. Harriette graduated from Roxboro High School in 1956. After graduation she attended George Washington University in Washington, DC and was a member of the GWU Choir. She worked for the District Government as a budget officer for thirty-eight years before retiring. Residing in Alexandria, VA while working in DC, she remained there until 2005 and then moved to Daytona Beach, FL. In the years thereafter she spent half her time in Daytona Beach and the other half at her home in Grove, OK. She was a kind and giving person and loved animals. She was very outgoing and had many friends. Some of the closest were Sheri, Eric, Diane, Betsy and Marko to name a few. Her very favorite thing to do was to play Bridge with her very good friends Melissa, Carolyn, Dennis, Judy and Charlie. Harriette was a member of St. Marks Episcopal Church in Roxboro, NC and attended St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Grove. She is survived by her brothers James E. "Bud" Carver, Jr (Emma) of Grove, OK, Lee W. Carver of Daytona Beach, FL and a sister Marjorie W. Hurst (Richard) of Reno, NV. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews Rachel and Steve Mathis (Kyle and Andrew) of Sapulpa, OK, Bill and Jennifer Carver (Abbey and Allison) of Glenpool, OK and Pam and Don Perry (Bobby) of Orlando, FL. Harriette was preceded by her parents James and Virginia Carver and a sister, Patsy Johnson. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Grove, OK with Reverend Phil Lawrence officiating. Interment will be at Bellevue Cemetery in Daytona Beach, FL. Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of your choice.
