Harry Franklin "Frank" McKnight, 80 year old rural Vinita resident, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at his home. He was born on February 12, 1933 in Ketchum to James Madison and Cloe Etta (Jones) McKnight. He attended school in Ketchum, before going into the United States Army in 1953, serving to July 2, 1956. Frank married Marcella "Pill" Wells on September 15, 1955 in Salida, Colorado. He worked as a truck driver, he worked last for Armin Plastics out of Tulsa, he also drove for CFI, and Elliott truck lines. Frank was skilled at many things; he had worked on building the Will Rogers Turnpike, as a welder and a home builder. He and Pill had lived in Colorado, Tulsa for many years, then moved to the Grand Lake area in 1981. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Vinita, before moving to Vinita he was a member of the Maplewood Baptist Church in Tulsa, where he served as a Deacon. Frank was an outdoorsman, fisherman, hunter, jig maker, and loved raising cattle; most of all he loved his family. The family includes: his wife Pill of the home; children, Linda Johnson of Atlanta, Georgia; Gary McKnight and wife Vickie of Wichita, KS; siblings, Betty Moody Clark of Vinita, Frances Armentrout , Marie McKnight, Robert McKnight and wife Mary Ann, Raymond McKnight, Louis McKnight and wife Bobbie all of Ketchum, Carolyn Pool and husband Hugh of Rattan; grandchildren, Jennifer Kirscht and husband David, Brittney Johnson, Shannon Johnson; great-grandchildren, Victoria, Gregory and Josiah Kirscht; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Roger Lee McKnight, siblings, Joy Dee McKnight and William "Bill" McKnight. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Vinita. The funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastors Skip McClain and Steve Holland officiating. Interment will follow at the Carselowey Cemetery.
