Harry F. Temple, age 77, of rural Nowata, passed away at home on November 18. He was born at Nowata on 20th July 1933 to William Harrison and Esther Lucinda Phillips Temple. He attended school in Nowata and graduated in 1951. He attended college at Oklahoma State University soon after graduation but had to leave school when his mother had poor health. He later returned to OSU, graduating in 1967 with an Electrical Engineering degree. Harry entered the Navy in 1956 and was honorably discharged in1960. He married Virginia Marrs in Nowata February 2, 1957. Harry worked for Phillips Petroleum for a number of years, and then transferred to Applied Automation, Inc., where he continued working until 1994. After leaving AAI, Harry worked as an instrumentation and technology specialist for many years, retiring December 31, 2009. Harry was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Bartlesville Third Ward. Harry is survived by his wife, Virginia, daughters Susie Temple of Austin, Patricia Kulbeth and husband James of Fountain, Colorado; Judy Johnston and husband Ross of Canton, Georgia; Nancy Murray and husband Carl of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Diane Bevan and husband Keith of Burley, Idaho, and Angela Rogers and husband Kirk of Salem, Utah. He is also survived by his brother, Hubert Temple, of Nowata, 20 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. His parents and sister, Leona Kester, preceded him in death. Pallbearers for their grandfather are 6 grandsons, Travis Kulbeth, Sam Kulbeth, Tyler Bevan, Seth Johnston, Derek Bitshe, and David White. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 22 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 1501 Swan Drive in Bartlesville. Interment will follow in the Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Family will receive visitors on Sunday, November 21 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. On-line condolences can be left for the family at www.honoringmemories.com.
