Hattie Prather

Hattie Lee Prather 99, year old Vinita resident, passed away Sunday October 11, 2009 at Rosewood Terrace. She was born April 27, 1910 in Snyder, Texas to Henry S. and Cora (Davis) Hart. Hattie was married to Charlie Marion Prather; he preceded her in death on September 11, 1986. They moved to Vinita from Muleshoe, Texas in 1954 and were engage in farming and ranching. Hattie was the oldest living member of the First Baptist Church in Vinita. She had also been a member of the Home Demonstration Club. The family includes: her children, Tim Prather and wife Patti of Fredericksburg, Texas, Rex Prather and wife Brenda of Post, Texas, Charlene Bickel and husband Jim of Ballinger, Texas, Fern Green and husband Gene of Claremore; one sister, Nell Harless and husband Don of Abilene, Texas; ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Others preceding her in death include, eleven siblings, twin sons, Larry and Gerry Prather, and a son Jim Prather. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Vinita, with Dr. Henry Haynes officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita. Casket bearers will be, Stanley Bickel, Skipper Prather, Chuck Prather, Russell Prather, Michael Prather and Evan Allard. Preferred memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church, Senior Projects at 321 W. Illinois, Vinita, OK 74301. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com. Arrangements are by the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
