Hazel Louise Blair, 96 year old resident of Shawnee, formally from Nowata OK, died Monday July 4, 2011 at her home. She was born in Crawford County, Kansas to Charles Albert and Myrtle May Emerick Wyckoff. She was raised and graduated high school in 1933 at Arcadia, KS. Hazel and Charles Scott Blair were married on March 9, 1935 in Fort Scott, KS. They moved to Nowata in January 1943 until 1955 moving to Shawnee, OK living there for forty five years and was an active member of the First Christian Church at Nowata and Shawnee. She loved Church work, gardening, crocheting, sewing and being a wife, mother, grandmother and her little dog Baby. Hazel leaves behind one son: Bobby Charles Blair of Shawnee, OK, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son Billy Warren Blair in 2003, her parents and one brother, Jacob (Hubert) Wyckoff. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday July 11, 2011 at Benjamin Funeral Home Chapel with Ben Killion officiating. Interment will follow in Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com.
