Hazel Beatrice Driskill, 98-year-old Delaware resident, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at the Osage Nursing Home. Mrs. Driskill was born October 17, 1910 in Hurdland, Missouri to Frank E. Roberts and Elsie Philips-Roberts. She grew up in the Hurdland area where she also attended schools until her mother passed away and she had to quit school to care for her sisters. On August 29, 1935, she married Wayne H. Driskill in Nowata. Mrs. Driskill worked at Neill Todds in Coffeyville and later in the Nowata Sewing Factory. She was an excellent cook and also loved gardening. She spent countless hours square dancing and sewing. She enjoyed so many things in life, but perhaps the thing she enjoyed most was the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Driskill is survived by two daughters, Wanda Felton of Lenapah, Darlene Teel of Lenapah; by 15 grandchildren; by 33 great-grandchildren; by 14 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband Wayne; by a daughter, Rubie Marie Driskill-Sanders; by a son, Hershel A. Decker; by a grandson, Kelly W Sanders; and by 2 great-grandchildren, Shanna and Trevor.
