Hazel Frits

Hazel Naomi (Jones) Frits, age 81 of Vinita, died Wednesday, January 12, 2011. Hazel was born in Rulo, Nebraska on November 2, 1929, the daughter of Ralph and Gertrude (Zimmerman) Jones. On May 18, 1947 she was united in marriage to Harvy Frits and together they raised four children. Hazel was a member of the First Baptist Church in Vinita where she also taught bible school. She enjoyed going on walks and gardening but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Survivors include her daughter LaDonna Dawson of Vinita, Janice Williams and husband Rick of Tulsa, Harvy Frits Jr. of Tulsa, 5 granchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and two sisters Mavis Barker of Vinita, and Patricia Brown and husband Harold of Vinita. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harvy, son Clyde Wayne Frits, and sisters Vada Davis and Renata Blackburn. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel with Pastor Henry Haynes officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
