Mr. H.D. (Doug) Hoskinson, 87 years old, died Tuesday February 16, 2010 at Jane Phillips Medical Center. Doug was born in Burrton, Kansas, March 16, 1922, the son of Clarence Douglas Hoskinson and Claytie (Jerome) Hoskinson. He was raised and educated in Burrton graduating from Burrton High School. Doug attended two years at Hutchinson Junior College before enlisting in the U.S. Marines. He served for 42 months during World War II with the 3rd Marine Air Wing in the Marshall Islands. Doug was honorably discharged in California and he graduated from Los Angeles University. He started his career with Phillips Petroleum Company in 1948 where he met and was united in marriage with Jean Hill on March 25, 1951 in Bartlesville, OK. The first five years of the marriage were spent traveling to different extended assignments at Phillips locations throughout the US. He then worked in various positions as an accounting supervisor. Doug retired from Phillips in 1985. Doug was a member of First Baptist Church and volunteered in the Homebound Ministry. He and Jean enjoyed several years of travel and cruises following his retirement. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed walking at the mall where he made many friends. Doug is survived by his wife Jean Hoskinson of the home, two sons Clayton Douglas Hoskinson and his wife Marcia of Norman, OK and Clark Ryan Hoskinson and his wife Kathryn of Portland. OR. One grandson Jason Andrew Hoskinson of Norman, OK one sister, Marguerite Parker of Corvalis, OR and one brother in law Calvin R. Hill and his wife Jerrie of Bartlesville, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Viewing and funeral services are under the direction of the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home. Viewing will be held Friday, February 19, 2010 until 9:00 p.m. Funeral services for Mr. Hoskinson will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the Colonial Chapel of the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home. Dr. Joe Dan Fowler of the First Baptist Church of Bartlesville, OK. will preside over the services, with interment to follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
