Helen R. Bolen, age 82, resident of Copan, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at her home. Helen Rhea Bolen was born May 29th, 1930, in Violet Hill, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Edward Jay Dunlap and Gladys Edith Cooper Dunlap. She received her education in Hardy, Arkansas. After receiving her high school diploma, she moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma where she lived with her uncle Ray and Aunt Lucille Dunlap. She attended Central Christian College for two years. She then moved to Kentucky where she was employed with General Electric for eight years. There she met and married Tom Blue, Jr. From that union, a daughter, Karen, was born. Helen moved back to Oklahoma where she married Ron Bolen in December 1965. In Bartlesville she became an employee of the Washington County Memorial Hospital where she remained for 18 years. The hospital merged with Jane Phillips Hospital and Helen continued her employment with the new company for another 17-1/2 years. Helen taught the Unit Secretary class for several years at Tri-County Technology in Bartlesville. She retired from the hospital in January of 2000. She then went to work for Youth and Family Services in November 2000 where she worked for eight years at the shelter. She moved to Arkansas where she lived in retirement in Hardy before moving back to Copan to be with her daughter. Survivors include her life-long love, Ron Bolen; daughters, Karen Blue, and Ronda Williams and her husband, Warren; son, Justin Bolen and Dawn Guymon; brothers, Joel Dunlap and his wife, Gina, Jim Dunlap and his wife, Patti; one half brother; and one half sister in Arkansas; sister-in-law, Jennine Bolen; grandsons, Josh Smith, Levi and Jon Bolen; step-granddaughters, Michelle Stephens, Mellanie Rackstraw; four great-grandchildren, Shiloh, Zach, Sarah, Lily Anna Smith; four step great-grandchildren, Calen, Ryan, Dustin Stephens, and Arly Ballangier. Also surviving are her Uncle Al; and two cousins (who are like a brother and sister), Ken and Theresa Dunlap. Also surviving are several loving cousins and their families, nieces and nephews, and many, many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother; and two sisters, Catherine Adams and Betty Jean Houston.
