Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita - 918-256-5555 --- Helen Nadine McCoy passed away on December 25, 2014, at age 98. She was born to Bessie Jane (McKinzie) Berry and Arthur Berry on November 30, 1916 in Welch, OK. She grew up West of Welch where she rode her horse to the rural school she attended. Nadine and her mother moved to Vinita so that she could attend, and graduate from, Vinita High School. She married Ernest Marion McCoy on August 21, 1939, and they were married for 53 years. He preceded her in death in 1992. She worked for many years as a legal secretary for Rollie Clark in Vinita. Nadine was well known for her angel food and chiffon cakes, as well as her pies and chicken and dumplings. She enjoyed sewing and making decorative pillows with distinctive stitching. She like working outside in her flower and vegetable gardens. N her later years she loved feeding and watching the birds, especially the red birds. She also like to play dominos and was usually the winner. In addition to her husband she is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, G. W. McKinzie. Surviving are her three children: Jimmy Lee McCoy and wife Paula, Carolyn Russell and husband Charles, of Vinita, and John Bradley McCoy of Tulsa. She leaves behind five grandchildren: Doug Russell of Chelsea, Mike Russell of Lake Worth, FL, Phillip McCoy and Cassie Huckaby of Tulsa, and Bradley McCoy of Des Moines, IA, and five great-grandchildren. Also numerous cousins and friends. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor Leon Landrum officiating.
