Helen Marie Wallen, 93, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma passed from this life on Saturday June 1st, 2024, suddenly. She is now awaiting Jesus’ return and his promise of a new life with him. Helen was born November 16,1930 at Oologah, Oklahoma to Robert and Edna Hendrickson. The family moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma in 1940 where she lived the rest of her life. She graduated from College High School in 1948, attended Bartlesville Business College and was a Phillips Petroleum Company retiree.
In 1950, Helen married Douglas M. Wallen and from that union, had three children, Gary Wallen, Karen Vineyard Cloke and John Wallen. They have one grandson, Brian Vineyard.
Helen was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy and her greatest enjoyment was her family. Helen was always game for whatever adventure that came up and she lived life to the fullest. Her passion for life was contagious to others. She went kayaking just a couple years ago and nothing was off limits. In later years, she loved tooling around on her mobility scooter. Her hobbies included painting, genealogy and cooking. She was a master cook and enjoyed trying to master a dish instead of just following a recipe.
Helen was a faithful Christian, and her faith was unshakable. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was always ready to share the gospel with anyone who was interested and got tremendous joy out of teaching the young children at her church. Her pleasant fun-loving personality was contagious, and she will leave a hole in the hearts of all her many friends and family.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Douglas, parents Robert and Edna and a beloved sister Jane DeRosa. She is survived by her sons, Gary and John, daughter, Karen and grandson, Brian.
