Helene Ferguson

December 29, 1916 — March 30, 2014

Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita - Helene Ferguson formerly of Vinita, passed away Sunday March 30, 2014 at her residence in Edmond, Oklahoma. She was born in Princeville, Illinois to Charles and Pearle Walliker, the second of five children. She attended school in Princeville and business school in Peoria, Illinois. She enlisted in the SPARS in 1943 and served in World War II. At the time she enlisted she was working in Washington, D.C. Helene was united in marriage to Everett F. Ferguson of Mangum, Oklahoma on June 3, 1948 at Biggs AFB Chapel in El Paso, Texas. The couple had two children, William Allen and Debby Danner of Edmond, Oklahoma. Helene and Everett had two grandchildren, Jennifer Speckman of Oklahoma City and Chris Danner of Edmond, Oklahoma and three great grandchildren, Skylar Mooneyham, Jade Speckman and Aria Speckman all of Oklahoma City. She was preceded by death by her husband, Everett, her son William, 3 sisters and 1 brother, and her parents. Survivors include daughter and husband Debby and Mark Danner, Jennifer Speckman and family, Chris Danner and numerous nieces and nephews. Helene was a member of First Methodist Church of Vinita, Oklahoma, Aglow international, Emmaus Reunion. Helene and Everett moved to Edmond, Oklahoma in 2001 and where she now attends Fairview Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held Thursday April 3, 2014 at 10:00 AM in the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel under the direction of Luginbuel Service. Comittal Service will be at Fort Gibson National Cemetery at 2:00 PM. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com. Friends may give to the Wounded Warrior Project.
