Herbert Donald Kiser, 85, of Nowata passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011 at his home. He was born on February 9, 1926 to Wayne and Lucy Kiser in Avant, OK. Herbert graduated from Ochelata High School and continued his education at Coffeyville Junior College and Kansas State University. He enlisted in the Army on January 20, 1944. Herbert married Mary Nation in Nowata on November 22, 1967. He was employed by Forrest Oil in the accounting department. In 1970, they moved him to San Antonio, Texas and in 1975, to Corpus Christi, Texas. In 1996, he returned to Nowata to enjoy his retirement. Herbert enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Kiser is survived by his wife, Mary Kiser; five children, Mike Dye of Nowata, OK., Rick Dye of Magnolia, TX., Pamela Truelove of Kingsville, TX., Linda Litterell of Tulsa, OK., Dianna Dye of Nowata, OK; one sister, Norma Jean of Blue Springs, KS., ten grandchildren, and thirteen grandchildren. Herbert is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Lucy Padgett, a daughter, Jane Wordon; four brothers, Earl Kiser, Wayne Kiser, Bob Kiser, and Richard Kiser and one sister, Grace Kiser. Funeral services for Herbert are at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 8, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Wendell Abbott officiating. Interment will follow at Mt.
