Herman Jack "Jack" Springston, 78, of Grove, Oklahoma died at 12:30 p.m., Sunday, January 18, 2009 at Grove Nursing Center in Grove, Oklahoma. Jack was born December 19, 1930 in Durham, Arkansas to Oda Arthur and Myrtle Edith (Stewart) Springston. After graduating from Springdale High School in Springdale, Arkansas with the Class of 1947, Jack proudly served his country with the U. S. Navy. Jack worked as a regional sales manager for Kennametal until his retirement. He was a member of the Moose and Elks Lodge and a past member of the Eagles. He married his high school sweetheart, Loda Mae Holder. Jack and Loda had one child, a son, Bobby Glen Springston. Both Loda and Bobby Glen preceded Jack in death. Jack was also preceded in death by his mother; father; three brothers, Bill, Johnny and Earl; and one sister Josephine Springston. In 1985, Jack married Mary Tyler in Las Vegas, Nevada. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include, two brothers, Glenn and Nina Springston of Farmington, Arkansas and Don and Thelma Springston of Springdale, Arkansas; one sister, Kathleen and Leonard Johnson of Lowell, Arkansas; two grandsons, Gregory and Robin Springston and Glenn Springston and one great-grandson, Xavier Springston all of San Francisco, California; two stepsons, Tracy and Amy Tyler of Atlanta, Georgia, and David Tyler of Springdale, Arkansas; five Tyler grandchildren, Hannah, Hattie, Hope, and Ramey of Arkansas and Jordyne Tate Tyler of Atlanta. Per Jack's request, he will be cremated with no services planned at this time. Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove, Oklahoma is in charge of arrangements.
