Funeral services for Hester Lee Grissom are 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at the Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel with Brother Eddie Pattison officiating. Interment will follow at Chelsea Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com. Hester Lee Grissom, 95, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2015 at the Osage Nursing Home. She was born in Tulsa, OK to Ernest and Floy (Kimbrell) Tomlinson. She attended Chelsea Schools and on July 23, 1938 she married the love of her life, Enos Grissom, in Vinita. Hester Lee enjoyed picking blackberries and making miniature chairs. Her grandchildren remember her cooking brown beans and making sure they all had plenty. She loved to play bingo, dominos, and taught the children and grandchildren how to play pitch. Her scrapbooks and photo albums were full of family and friends photos and newspaper clippings. She always had a smile on her face and had a wonderful sense of humor. Hester Lee had a special place in her heart for her children, grandchildren, and all of her family and friends. They all have fond memories and stories about her they will treasure for the rest of their lives. She was a special lady that will be missed by all who knew her. Hester is survived by a daughter, Barbara Parrett (Melvin) of Nowata; a daughter-in-law, Judy Elkins; two siblings, Nadine Hester of Nowata and Chester Tomlinson (Billie) of Tulsa; nine grandchildren, Kathy Tattershall (Virgil), Ray Parrett (Donna), Bill Parrett (Kathy), Jeff Parrett (Jenalea), Jeff Grissom, Phyllis Albertson (Charlie), Crystal Malone (Brownie), Melissa Crawford (Bryan), Kenny Ray Grissom, Jr. (Christi), nineteen great grandchildren, and eighteen great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Ernest Tomlinson, Floy Kimbrell Tomlinson and her step-mom who raised her Florence Williams Tomlinson , her husband Enos Grissom; two children, Elmer Joe Grissom and Kenneth Ray Grissom Sr.; a daughter-in-law Linda Grissom; three sisters, Odeen Tomlinson, Irene Rice, Dorothy Edison; four brothers, Elmer Tomlinson, Vern Tomlinson, Bill Tomlinson, Howard Tomlinson and a great grandson Drew Tattershall.
