Homer Carter

January 8, 1929 — July 13, 2013

Homer M. Carter passed away recently after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was born in Hutchinson County, Texas, in 1929 to Homer and Lillie Carter. He attended Texas Tech, graduating in 1952 with a B.S. in Economics. His occupations included farming, ranching, and the US Postal Service. He retired from Postal Service in 1989. He was active in the US Army Reserve, and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his second wife Charlotte, and is survived by two sons, Allen and Joe, and one daughter, Cheryl Ruhl. He is also survived by his granddaughters Cynthia Brown, Melanie Lewey, and Sabrina Ruhl, his grandson Eric Ruhl, and three great grandsons. Memorials may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, Parkinson Plaza, 135 Parkinson Ave., Staten Island NY 10305. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Dick Duck Cemetery in Catoosa.
