Howard Taft Javine, Jr., 81, of rural Claremore, OK passed away Friday night, November 17, 2023, at St. Francis Hospital South, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Howard was born November 9, 1942, at Barnsdall, OK to Howard Taft Javine, Sr. and Alice Mildred (Duncan) Javine. He grew up and completed his education in Barnsdall. After graduation, he met and later married Alice I. Hendrix on December 23, 1962, in Barnsdall. Howard worked in the oil fields as a young man and the Javines lived in Avant, Copan, Twin Hills and move to their home in rural Claremore in 1993. In the spring of 1966, Howard was drafted by the U.S. Army and by the time of his Honorable Discharge, he had found a talent for cooking. Upon discharge from the military, he attended culinary school. He retired from the Oklahoma National Guard.
Howard was a member of Claremore Church of Christ, the VFW and American Legion. He was also an avid coin collector. He loved to deer hunt with his dad when he was younger and enjoyed time spent with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Alice of the home; sons, Christopher Javine of Claremore and Mark Javine and wife, Allison of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Megan Campbell and husband, Chris of Coweta, OK, Chistopher Lee Foster and wife, Tara of Muskogee, OK, Geoffrey Kyle Javine and wife, Robbi of Wagoner, OK, Patrick Stewart Javine and wife, Summer of Tulsa, Rylan Alexander Javine, Michael Alexander Javine and Marlissa Dawn Basks, all of Claremore; 11 great-grandchildren, Melissa Basks and husband, Mark of Claremore. Howard was preceded by his parents and by a sister, Frances Mae Rose Willard and her husband Cecil Willard.
