Grove, OK - Howard Jackson Teel, 80, died March 1, 2010 in his home while resting. He was born on November 10, 1929 to Claibourne Jackson and Hazel Fern (Saffle) Teel in the home of his parents located in the Dodge community east of Grove, OK. Howard married Nancy Ruth Hogue in June 1979. He graduated from Jay High School in 1948, Jay, Oklahoma. Howard was in the construction business all his life. He built many homes in the Grove, Miami, and Southwest City area. At the age of 79 Howard was still working for two of his sons trimming houses with the help of his grandson, Jordan, when he was not in school. This past November 10, Howard celebrated his 80th birthday with a great many family and friends. Howard regularly attended the Southwest City Full Gospel Church in Southwest City, whose fellowship he greatly enjoyed. He always had a fridge full of treats for his grandkids, who came to play dominos or to just hangout. His most precious award was "Greatest Grandpa" presented to him this past Valentines' day from one of his favorite granddaughters, Hannah. Howard was preceded in death by his mother, father, and his dear step-mother, Rose E. Medlin, to whom so much is owed. He was also preceded in death by his brother George Teel, sister Ollie Francine Clemmons, step-brother Roy Medlin, and step-sister Bonnie Bryant. He is survived by his wife Nancy of the home, his sisters, Twilla Jo Roberts of Lexington, KY and Betty Flo Giles of Joplin, MO and his brother, Marshall Teel of Whitewater community. Howard's children are Greg, Doug, Mike, and Jay Teel, Rick, Joe, and Danny Henrie, Teri Word and Charlie Apperson. Howard has 19 grandchildren and 5 great grand children. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 03, 2010 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services are 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the Southwest City Full Gospel Church with Pastor Richard Hart officiating. Interment will follow in the Southwest City Cemetery under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma. Pallbearers are grandsons, Arron Potter, Hoguen Apperson, Justin Teel, Jason Todd (JT) Teel, Jordan Teel and Jarrett Teel.
