Hubert Leslie Graves passed from this life Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He was born December 5, 1939 in Nowata Oklahoma to William "Bill" and Mamie (Hensley) Graves. Hubert graduated from Nowata High School and continued his education in Colorado where he studied geology and archeology. Hubert worked in hospital security most of his life and was a correctional officer at Grand Junction Prison in Grand Junction, Colorado. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Hubert was a spiritual person and followed several non-denominational ministries. He owned a rock shop at one time and really enjoyed archeology and geology. He like to camp, fish, and rock climbing. He also liked to make jewelry, collect art and antiques, as well as go to museums. Hubert was a history buff and loved National Geographic. He owned and operated a restaurant at one time with a friend. He loved music and all of the arts. He was a loving man that will be missed by all who knew him. Preceding Mr. Graves in death are his parents, Bill and Mamie Graves, and siblings, Shirley Wiley, Katherine Lay, J.R. Graves, Johnny Graves, Don Graves, and Betty Hendricks. Mr. Graves leaves behind a daughter, Peggy Jones and husband Eric of Holland, Michigan; three grandchildren, Derick Jones, Geordie Jones, Clarissa Collins; five great grandchildren, Lili Jones, Adonia Jones, Levi Jones, Elijah Jones, and Henry Jones; a sister-in-law Wilma Graves; a cousin Frances Cody; a former wife Marry Squires; many other relatives and a host of friends.
