Humberto Gomez, 82, of Bartlesville, OK, passed away peacefully at his residence on December 2, 2024, in Bartlesville, OK.
On March 25, 1942, Humberto was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, to parents: Alfredo Gomez and Andrea Morales. When Humberto was born, his parents and his five older sisters had been waiting for a little brother. His sisters carried him around and spoiled him as a baby, until Humberto had two younger brothers and another baby sister.
Growing up in Mexico, Humberto was born into a family of farmers. His family grew corn and produced their own charcoal to sell or trade in goods. Humberto was a family man, and as his parents aged, he took care of them, as well as his siblings, and nieces and nephews. He was dedicated to his extended family and made sure that the children of the family had plenty to eat.
Humberto met Sharon Rose Knight, while she served as a missionary in Mexico and from the moment he met her, he wanted to marry her. Humberto would come to Sharon’s rescue when she would get stuck in the river in the canyons. Humberto would be irritated because he would have to get the tractor and use gas to pull Sharon out of the river. Humberto married Sharon on December 19, 1998, in Mulato Ojinaga Chihuahua, Mexico.
In 1999, Humberto committed to his faith and was saved in Missouri. Humberto and Sharon would begin pastoring in 2002. For several years, the couple pastored in various states including California, Kansas, and Oklahoma. In 2019, they moved to Bartlesville, OK, to retire and would remain until Humberto’s passing.
In his free time, Humberto enjoyed gardening and especially loved the flowers. He loved cats and helping people. Humberto had a big heart and was very loving and kind. These words were used to describe Humberto – genuine, real, authentic, a man of great faith. He was a mighty prayer warrior. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Humberto is preceded in death by his parents and his 5 older sisters.
Those left to cherish the memory of Humberto are his wife: Sharon Rose Knight De Gomez of Bartlesville, OK; his son: Felipe and wife, Shiloh of Sterling, CO; his grandchildren: Mason, Dakota, & Logan of Sterling, CO; his great-grandchild: Jonah of Sterling, CO; his brothers: Mundo and Mario of Odessa, TX; his sister: Chela of Odessa, TX, many nieces and nephews: along with his church family, other family members and friends.
